Faculty
Faculty members play an integral role in internationalizing the undergraduate experience at UCSC. To promote international scholarship, faculty and advisors help support student access to study abroad/away through advising, advocacy and support. UCSC Global Learning believes strongly in the development of global competency and citizenship by assisting students in identifying those international and intercultural domestic experiences that fit into their degree and career planning as well as support the internationalization efforts and community building at UCSC.
UCSC Global Learning depends on faculty to endorse and promote international and intercultural experiences. We welcome your ideas and look forward to working with you to further integrate and expand global learning opportunities for our students.
UCSC Global Seminars
Global Engagement provides administrative and logistical support for UCSC Global Seminar summer programs. Faculty members design the curriculum and lead a cohort of students on a 6-10 unit summer program abroad or away. These programs typically take place during Summer Session 1 or Summer Session 2. In order to move forward with a Global Seminar, faculty leaders must submit a Global Seminar Proposal a year and a half in advance (based on designated deadlines outlined in the below proposal document). Proposals must have the support of your department and are reviewed by the Committee on International Education which is comprised of campus faculty members.
