Program Overview:

Aarhus University is located in Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city. Situated on the coast, Aarhus is considered to have a university-town atmosphere, with a vibrant food scene and cultural attractions. With beautiful Danish architecture, Aarhus is an easily navigable city either on foot or bike, is less than three hours by train from Copenhagen and near many beautiful beaches and forests to explore. Aarhus University is the second oldest university in Denmark and offers a wide range of courses in English, including the arts, humanities, physical and biological sciences, social sciences, and engineering. In addition to an active student life on campus, Aarhus University is home to numerous research centers and museums.

Eligibility Requirements

This program is open to students who meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • 2.85 cumulative UCSC GPA or above
  • Good academic and disciplinary standing
  • Junior or Senior class standing by the time of departure
  • UCSC student, 18 years of age or older at the time of departure

Courses

You can search for courses on the Aarhus website. You will find a broad range of courses in the arts, humanities, physical and biological sciences, social sciences, and engineering. Particular strengths include anthropology, art history, biological sciences, business and management, chemistry, economics, engineering, English/literature, film & digital media, history, mathematics, political science, and psychology. As long as you meet any prerequisites, you can enroll in either undergraduate or master’s level courses at Aarhus.

Please Note: The UC Santa Cruz Exchange Programs have limited space. Applications are processed and selected on rolling admission basis and first come first serve basis. Students are encouraged to apply early.

  2. Select your program to start the application process.
  3. Complete and submit the application. Make sure you have uploaded all required documents.
  4. Wait for notification about your selection status. You will be notified within three weeks of application submission. If selected, you will be prompted to begin completing pre-departure requirements, including health clearance and a host university application.
